So, I got my FA letter during the weekend. The COA is about $50,000 and I got about $40,000 in scholarships and grants and about $9,000 in loans. Everything that I need to attend is either covered by the scholarships/grants or the loans. The only thing is that one of the loans is a parent PLUS loan which I know my mom will not be able to take out because she recently filed for bankruptcy. If she's denied the loan (which she probably will) I'll have to take out an Unsubsidized loan which gathers interest while I'm in school and I fear that because I'm trying to get a job to pay it off, but it's difficult to find one, so I won't be able to make the interest payments if I don't get a job. Anyway, as you can see they were pretty generous with my FA package, but I want to take out a smaller amount of loans if possible, but then I was thinking that since they were so generous, it would look almost selfish to try to appeal. What do you think?
