Should I add on to my house from the dining room or the kitchen?

I am seriously considering adding onto our old home a 15' by 16' section that includes a small hallway, half bath, decent sized utility room and an atrium. The only reasonable place to build such a thing on our house is on the back where the porchy utility room is. My question is: Is it better to have the entrance to this addition off the kitchen or the formal dining room?
Does it make a difference if it's a door or an archway and if all the three other walls in the dining rooms have an entry to another room?

Happy to oblige! This shows as coming through the dining room.
The budget thing is unknown as of yet, waiting on hubby's promotion to know for sure. We are in Louisiana... and I haven't looked into lighting and things too much yet. III am seriously considering this because I have to do laundry on a wasp infested porch. It will happen one day!
Soonish :P Like I said, that depends on budget things.
