no, not every car needs to be a sports car. fwd is cheaper to make which means cheaper for the comsumer to buy. fwd is usually more fuel effient, lighter, and easier to drive in poor weather. Honda does have the nsx and s2000 and several awd options.

No. Rear wheel drive handles terribly, especially in bad weather. Cars USED to be rear wheel drive, most of them at some point, and they have gone to front wheel drive for the better handling it provides. Some are all wheel drive- which is better yet, but rear wheel sucks.
I don't see what benefit they would get from it. seriously. They're not driving on straight tracks.
