Should he change over to business?

He is 38+. Well educated, intelligent and ambitious. Went in for a good job in a remote area after his pass out with a professional degree. Left the job after three years to join a lesser job in a well connected place. Again left the job after three years to start a self employed unit (a small enterprise). The company did not fail but proved to be not viable. He wound it up after three years. He then underwent training in a new technique and got a job in a multi national company on handsome package. He left it after three years to join a better multi national on better package. Now this is again third year and he is fed up with the stereotyped job and feels stagnated particularly because some of his colleagues have outdone him due to their better communication skill and got themselves better placed. He can find another job but it will not be financially better job. Therefore, he wants to set up a new enterprise of his own with a novel idea but with just manageable funds. Success of this venture can take him to great height financially, which is his ambition. But its flop, may God help him, can send him years back and can demoralise too when he would have already crossed 40 with a family to support. His obsession is so strong that his family members including elders have no alternative except to support him for his proposed venture, but deep inside they wish he should drop the idea and wait for change of job for better one which they hope would eventually come. Any suggestion please.
