I haven't run in decades, and am overweight. I have extremely flat feet - always have - and a running store recommended the Brooks Beast. They felt all right for a few minutes on the treadmill at the store, but when I took them for my first walk/jog I didn't get more than three blocks before my arches really started to hurt. It felt as if my arches were in a vise!
