A friend just bought a used car, only 1 year old, that has power door locks. It did not come with a remote to lock or unlock the doors, and he's considering buying one, assuming a remote can be programmed to work with that car. He thinks the keyless entry remote was lost upon resale. Is it correct to assume a manufacturer's power lock system on a car comes with a remote when new, or can a car have power door locks and not work with a keyless entry remote?
Should a car that has power locks also come equipped with a remote to lock/unlock?
