for the last couple to 3 weeks I have had continuous SOB. From the time I get up until going to bed. I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago - she did an EKG and chest X-ray - She said I have some COPD which I knew and wanted me to start ADVAIR and Zoloft for anxiety - she thought most of the SOB was from that - well last week I went back to her - asking about side effects of ADVAIR - then Sat. I went to the ER with SOB they did a breathing treatment it didn't help me - so they admitted me - came home yesterday - still the same - they did heart tests, blood, lung tests - the doctor seem to think most of it was from anxiety - so he told me not to take Zoloft - and to use Depakote - well the night in the hospital - I did ok - but last night I home I stayed awake all night - he said it should help me to be calm - also today feel tired and weak legs. So I'm not taking this again - until I go back to my family doctor Thursday. I am so tired of this SOB - I feel like I am all alone in this!

lavender01, my Mother went through this about a year go. She's had COPD since 2001. She was given liquid morphine and liquid lorazepam (Ativan) and it helped her calm down a lot.

Best wishes.

your problem is common for anxiety suffers see the post from carolynig and my reply

muscle tightness causes rapid shallow panting which makes the anxiety worse, but can also be distracting for a while

a beta blocker type med from doc helps to relax the muscles
