In high school, we read a short story about a man who somehow creates a device that, when turned on, produces a (tone? frequency?) that causes euphoria. The device's creator, his family and some others test the device, and the results are almost catastrophic as they weather a tornado without even realizing it. Unfortunately that's all I remember about it. Anyone know the title and/or author of this story?
