Hi, I'm 46 and overweight (15stone) and have very mild Pulmonary Valve Stenosis. Never had any problems with the stenosis and don't take any tablets or see a dr for it. I have been back to my heart dr a few times over the last ten years saying i feel short of breath etc but the dr says it's my weight.
Anyhow i have just had surgery for a severe broken ankle and i felt so short of breath whilst in hospital. I told this to the dr and every single day whilst in hospital my saturations were no higher than 92 or 93%, then even went down to 88% at one stage. The dr put me on oxygen but the day they felt i was fit enough to go home concerning my ankle they just sent me home. I still feel so short of breath every time i do something but i know it is not helping that i have to hop everywhere with a walking frame and hopping when your 15 stone in weight is hard work. Is it ok that my sats are this low, they never used to be, the have always been about 98%.
Over the last year i have felt that i may be getting Angina symptoms, as in the morning when i rush to work, ( i walk) i get a discomfort in my chest that goes through to my back. if i go out for a meal or a drink, i can't walk afterwarRAB as i am so breathless, but my dr said this is down to indigestion.
I mainly want to know if my sats are ok to be this low for over a week please.
Thank you for any answers.
