shooting sharp pain in right ear?

Since yesterday I have been having this sharp pains in my right ear. It comes and goes its not consistent. Any ideas on what this is? I never had an ear infection and have no problems with wax. Cant go to the doctor unless im "dying" so busy at work during this tax time. If it continues I will have to. Just wondering if anybody ever experienced this? Thanks
