Shifting - Suzuki TL1000R (2002)?

I have an 02 TL1000R that I just purchased with 4000k miles on it. When the engine is cool, it downshifts fine, but when it gets hot - it seems like I have to screw with it occasionally to get it into 1st. Sometimes bliping the throttle and letting out on the clutch a little is all it takes, sometimse I have to put it in 2nd/3rd and go back down. What gives?

Good answers to be sure. If none of that works, you may check the gearshift cam stopper on the bottom of the crankcase next to the drain plug for wear or if it's stuck.

Removing the bolt will drain the oil, so bear that in mind. I highly recommend getting a service manual for the bike and you may look at the engine disassembly section to see the part I'm talking about.
