When i am approaching a traffic light, i often put my bike into nuetral in preperation of stopping, i have noticed that if i am still rolling in nuetral and i decide to shift into second, the transmission does not seem willing to agree, even if i rev it up to the appropriate rpm prior, and always grinds gears, its bothers me that either for some reason, you arnt supposed to do this, or there is something abnormal about my bike, my freind claims his bike does not agree when he shifts from nuetral to second as well, can anybody state weather this is a mechanical problem or simply a design flaw that has not been solved for sequential type transmissions.
To elaberate further the bike is an fjr1300, i typically only do this if i am roling at 45mph or faster where shifting to first gear would result in serious power being tapped into, and i woudl likely get pulled over for poping a mini wheelie upon opening the throttle.
