Updated paper licence help? My sister has got herself into a pickle again! so this is her situation. She got caught in middle of May doing 80 mph in a 70 zone - naughty i know! anyway, she received a £60 fine (2 weeks ago sent to my mums address and my mum had to forward it to her and it sat in the post office till saturday last week as my sister works 9 a.m.-6 p.m. mon-fri and was unable to collect it till the saturday) by Sheriff Court in Dundee (it happened in Scotland) and so she sent her licence and payment to them and yesterday (9th) she received a letter back from them stating that they would not accept her payment (returned it to her) until she sends the counterpart section of the licence - however she has not updated her address details yet (she moved away 4 months ago - and yes she knows this should have been one of the first things she do) and i have suggested that she go to her local DVLA office with as many utility bills as possible and her passport and obtain the counterpart today - and then send it with the payment again by Special Guaranteed next day delivery to the Sheriff Court - because they have given her until 15th July to come up with the counterpart document or she will be fined £2,500 for not paying the fine - please bear in mind she already knows that it takes the DVLA 15 days to produce the counterpart document in normal circumstances. Does anyone know whether she can do what we have suggested and can the Sheriff Court charge her £2,500 even though she is doing all she can in the time she has to come up with the document at least wait for it!
Hi yes she has informed the Sheriff Court and they said "not their problem" she has till 15th to come up with the documentation or she'll be fined
