About 5 nights ago I was brushing my teeth, when I slipped and jabbed my toothbrush pretty hard into my lower left cheek, all the way down between the cheek and bottom of the gums. There was blood, but oddly no immediate pain where I hit the cheek. Instead it ended up tearing my lip frenulum right in the middle of my lower lip (it was already cut, and this must have pulled it and ripped it more.) This hurt for a few days, but by now that pain is pretty much gone. However, as that pain went away over the past few days, the pain in the area where I actually hit with my toothbrush has been skyrocketing.
At this point, it's kind of on and off, but talking, eating, drinking, or any sort of touch can make it very, very painful. This usually stops after a while, but when it does hurt I can barely eat, can't smile, and can barely talk. It feels more painful than a normal cut, which I thought it was, and it also has been getting worse every single day which I find odd. Does anyone have any idea what this can be? Is it possible that it really is just a cut or sore that came from the toothbrush, even when it's very painful? It's getting bad enough that I'm thinking about going to the dentist or doctor...any thoughts?
