Sharp pains in abdomen?

I went to the doctors and they said i had sever PMS so they put me on the pill. i took it for a while and stopped because my cramps were getting better and so far its been working. but i noticed that Ive been having sharp pains in my abdomen every once in a while that would last maybe 5 mins. when they start i would freeze and i wouldn't be able to move until they stopped. these aren't my normal cramps. Ive gotten checked for cysts a few months ago and they didn't find any. so.. what could be wrong? p.s. i know there is no possibility that i could be pregnant. i never felt any cramp this bad
