Sharp pain in head, behind my right ear (near start of skull) + warm sensation?

I just recently (about 2 days ago) started getting a sharp pain that comes and goes behind my right ear/bottom skull area. I never get headaches so this kind of worries me....plus it has a warm sensation in the exact area and only that area...I've had no damage to my face/head....what is causing this????
