Disappearing Rose

Today at school the gym teachers made us run from half the gym to the other half and we have a BIG gym. So after running for awhile I felt a sharp pain on the top of my foot everytime I would step on it. When I told the teacher she told me to see if getting running shoes would help so I'm getting new shoes today. I'm wondering what this sharp pain located on the top of my foot after running awhile is and if I should go to a doctor to get it checked out.
