Sharp left upper arm pain when moved

Hi. For the past 4 days I have been getting this sharp pain in my upper arm between my shoulder and the elbow. Sometimes the pain runs down to the elbow but not all the time. Sometimes the pain is majour and sometimes it only hurts a little bit. The pain isin't like a normal pain. Its like a sharp/burning pain on the inside. I am not sure what it is. I went to the doctores yesterday. They weren't exactly sure what it was as it doesnt hurt when people touch it or put pressure it only seems to hurt when moved certain ways. The doctor thought it was weird and gave me papers to make an appointment for xrays a coulour duplex dopler. the muskoskelatal (msk) on the upper arm. but the place wants me to wait till january 1st for an appointment cuz there booked. Has anyone expeirenced this or may know what it is?

It could be shoulder impingement, that is, bursitis and/or tendonitis in the shoulder. I have this condition. Greatest pain when moving arm is the upper arm muscle about where it attaches to the shoulder and continues down toward the elbow. Arthritis is usually the cause or rotator cuff problem. The bursa in shoulder is inflammed causing swelling and does not allow sufficient room for the ligaments to move smoothly through the area.

My appointment to see the orthopedic doctor is 7 weeks away. However, I have been living with the condition for several months waiting for it to go away, but, that has not happened.

Hey. Thanks for the help. I plan on going to the hospital tonight to see what they say. The pain is getting worse a little bit. As now sometimes it will hurt when not moving it. I called to make an appointment for xrays and duplex colour doppler or whatever its called. But they want me to wait till january 1st. So im gonna go tothe hospital tonight and see if they can figure it out.
