I am 60. I get a sharp, burning pain in the base of my big toe - it's quite severe but only lasts a minute at most. There's no swelling, redness and it's not sore to the touch. I normally wear heels during the day and have no problem, this has started happening when I get home and put the slippers on! It's sharp and makes me shout out! Then it disappears!
