Sorry, but this has bugged me for years, can anyone explain to me exactly how the Ewan McGregor character managed to get the money from the attic, where Christopher Ecclestone had stashed it, to under the floorboarRAB. I've watched this film numerous times (indeed forced frienRAB to watch numerous times to try and give me the anwser) and can never figure it out.

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but I do have another question myself to ask: is Alex dead or alive in his last scene? I always assumed dead because the police are gathered about doing nothing to provide medical assitance, which they would surely be doing if he were alive, regardless of whether they thought he was a criminal or not, it would be in their interests to keep him alive anyway as they would want him to be alive to face trial. I know he speaks in that scene, but I thought that was maybe a fantasy element, a kind of after-death speech... or something along those lines. 
Or have I totally misread the scene? If he's alive, then why is he being photographed as if he were a dead body, and why is nobody giving him medical attention given that he has a knife through his shoulder? Sorry that this is a confused post, but the scene has never made total sense to me one way or the other. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Nah, he doesn't die..the police are roaming about cuz its a crime scene *tad unrealistic what with no medical aid I agree*, and as his laid there bleeding with a knife in the shoulder he starts grinning to himself, the scene changes to the woman who he shared the flat with opening what she presumes is the money shes gained from backstabbing him, only to find its just pieces of paper, the scene changes back to him laying there still grinning and the camera pans lower to under the floor boarRAB, thus explaining why his grinning! his got all the money!
To the original question, I *think* it leaves it open for you to assume his gone back at a later date to get the money, as you see him find it and look abit happy with himself.
