Shall I buy a third TX?

Hi,

Coming back to my grafiti problem with the touchscreen overuse, I have started to consider the various offers with PDA-s... I surely believe that the TX is still the best, but.... Treo, HP, Asus, Acer, Qtek/HTC...
Boy what a headache?
Plus those shop boys who have hints about a difficult time for Palm OS in front of the Windows mobile tsunami...

Like to hear about that...

best

I would hold off until Summer. See what the iPhone has to offer; also Motorola in the fall will release a Linux based version phone with outstanding menus and offerings.

I would not buy another TX just yet and instead "run the risk" of having to find a used one on eBay should they "dry up." There's too much coming from other sources, as you point out, to stay blindly married to Palm. That makes me sad, but it's true. They've been not only dropping the ball for 2 years now, they're not even bending over to pick the ball up.

We're all in the same boat here, some of us more loyal than others (I'm certainly loyal up to this point to Palm only) - but there will be a lot of jockeying going on over the next 6-12 months and in light of NO announcement(s) from Palm as to WHAT they're going to do, I personally think it's in your best interest to wait.

Yes, it is a headache, made even worse by the former "leader" (and still the case if you consider Treo sales) being silent as to future models. The "PDA only" is pretty much dead on arrival in terms of new models such as a "Super T3" or "Super TX." They (Palm) are if anything going to lean the other way and make cheaper entry level models and then have a new "phone."

The Windows Mobile tsunami won't last. There are too many other alternatives coming and despite Sony dropping out along with others, I believe there will be others stepping in to fill the "business pda only" niche without the hoopla of listening to songs on your phone waltzing 'round the mall.
