Sexism is really bugging me at the moment. Do you feel the same? (Discuss!)?

By the way, I know I'm leaving this open to lots of people leaving sexist comments, and I'm expecting lots of 'get off the internet and back to the kitchen' type comments - but they will all be ignored :)

It's just that recently I've noticed that both men and women are stereotyped so much, and so much is put down to gender when it needn't be. For example my friend said that she had to get her male cousin to help her to change the oil in her car, and that she shouldn't be expected to do it because she was only a girl. She meant it as a joke and was laughing, but I didn't find it funny. Surely some people can change the oil and others can't. Some who can't are wonen, but also some are men.

I think the only time sexism is allowed is when guys buy drinks for girls in bars...not because they should...but just because if they're that stupid that they're willing to spend their money on someone they don't know, then why not? It's a free drink right? Plus there are no rules against girls buying drinks for guys. I've been known to do that. :)

What do you think?
