sex with cousin's cousin?

Okay, so I had sex with my cousin's cousin's son on her other side of the family. I read somewhere that it isn't considered incest if you don't share a common ancestor. We don't. His Great-Uncle is my Uncle by marriage. In fact he isn't even married to my blood-related aunt anymore. So I know for a fact that it's not incest and to be honest, it wasn't even weird, for me at least.

So why does everyone in my family (who assumes we had sex, but no one knows but the two of us) think it's such a big deal? No one has mentioned the big nasty I word, but is it really incestuous?!

I need help!!!
 
If you are not blood related, it is fine. People who have a problem with that have the problem.
