Sex on Period

Ok...so i've seen a couple threads on this topic, but none answer my specific question...i understand that having sex with a girl on her period can impregnate her, but what if you dont actually release insider her, how likely is it that she gets pregnant than. Me and my gf had sex the night before she started her period and then the day after she started her period (total of 5 times) and i never released inside her. So would it be a slim chance that she get pregnant?
 
very slim chance right before, during and right after. That's not to say it's impossible, just unlikely. Ovulation usually takes place in the middle of the cycle.
