Sex for the first time?!?

I've been on BC for about 3 months and it was not because I have sex. For my periods.. well I have been thinking about having sex with my bf but I'm really nervous. He doesn't know I take BC so should we have sex with a condom or should I tell him we don't need it b/c I am on it? I am just nervous that if we DON'T use one something will happen like getting pregnant even though I am on it.. I just have really bad luck.
