I hear a lot of people here (especially in the parenting section) complaining about how the sex ed classes don't really teach anything. Personally I think it's the parents' job to teach their children about sex no the school systems. Anyway...these are my questions:
1. What grade were you taught sexual education?
2. What state did you go to school in?
3. What were you taught in this class?
4. Did you feel like you really learned anything?
I'll answer first.
1. 8th grade
2. California
3. We were taught about STDs, the names and purposes of the male and female reproductive organs, different types of birth control and how exactly pregnancy occurs (in technical terms as in how the fertilized egg implants in the uterus).
4. Yes, it was very informative.
Another question...if you had sex during your teenage years did taking sex-ed affect whether or not you used birth control?
