Sex after Surgery??

Hey Everyone,

Not even sure if I am allowed to ask this question here or not but what the heck, here goes.

What has been everyone’s experience as it relates to sex after your surgery? I am 9 weeks post op and actually feel pretty good aside from being strapped into the monster brace (the CTLSO). I asked my doctor and he said after about 6 weeks if we are very, very careful. I just don’t want to mess anything up but I my husband seems to be very, very frisky lately!(not really sure why, maybe he finRAB me sexy immobilized from my hips to my chin! – Ha, Ha)

Anyways, was hoping to hear from others re the whole post op sex thing.

Hi Nancy, you might want to do a search as this topic has come up several times on the board. Personally, I waited for some time after all of my surgeries because the risk was not worth prolonging my pain or causing a flare up BUT each person is different as well as the complexity of their case and if your doc says it is okay, I say go for it! :)
 
As Pepper says, this has been discussed before and is not off-limits. It's a normal question and we're happy to help!

My doc said to wait 6 weeks and then to have me only flat on the bottom and my husband should do all the "work".

Waiting 9 weeks, I guess your hubby IS frisky by now! Just be careful and you should be fine. :D

Andrea, that's so funny! That's exactly what my doctor says when the husband is present. It's always their question, not the wife's, and he loves to see the expression on the husband's face! Hee hee. Good to have a doctor with a sense of humor!
