sewing machine, or cooking supplies!!!!!10 points!?

help! I am ordering Christmas gifts, and I was stuck between a sewing machine or cooking supplies. Which one should i choose.
It would be great if you could a dd a couple of reasons to your choice

A sewing machine. No-one really thinks of that as a gift, so it'd be a nice change - from the "predictable" kitchen supplies. With kitchen supplies, you can get that any time of the year, but with the sewing machine - its more of a one off.
 
It depends, what does this person do? What do they do more? Sew or cook? Personally, I'd go with a sewing machine because it's more expensive and you can get/give cooking supplies all year round, or on their birthday or something.
 
They are both good gifts. A sewing machine, if you know how to use it, can make very cool clothes items. Cooking supplies will be good if the person likes to cook. It depends who you are giving the gift too. If they like to sew more than cook, give them the machine. If they like to cook, give them the supplies. I personally like the cooking supplies.
