I have been having severe lower back pain for a week now. It's so severe that when they placed me on the table on my back to take an XRAY they heard me screaming down the hall. I'm being treated with Pain meRAB, steroid pills etc...
My question is this. Shouldn't I have shown some improvement after a week? My daughter came through lower back surgery with a fusion over the past 3 months and just went back to work yesterday. I don't want to go through what she did. How do I know weather I may have blown a disk, or if it's just the muscles. The Xrays were okay. The Dr. said I was approved for 6 physical therapy sessions. If it were a blown disk, would the therapy make it better or worse?
Thanks:confused:

Maybe they can give you a sedative. They will definitely have to help you get up when it's over. Try to relax as much as possible. I know it's easy to say. Good luck.

I am in so much more pain than I ever have been. I've had 3 kiRAB and this tops that. This is a Workers Comp injury that happened at my job on the 19th of Nov. I'm waiting for the MRI on Mon. or Tuesday. The pain has settled in the lower right back and hip. I can't get out of bed in the morning until my husband brings me pain pills and I wait 30 minutes. I just want the pain to go away or some way to get any relief. Any suggestions of what I can do before I get the MRI and see the Doc. again? Just to be able to walk a few steps without pain.

Yeah, my recurring lower back issue is cycling back up again. And this time I have been MUCH better w/ exercise and stretching. I keep getting non-answers from my GP and his partners. May be time to look for a hardcore chiropractor. Or maybe voodoo. Kidding. Although at this point I would try just about anything ....
