For a little over a year now, about every 2 weeks or so, I get this very sharp, stabbing pain that either starts in my stomach and radiates to my back, or vice versa. I have had an ultrasound to rule out my gallbladder, kidneys and other organs. I have has an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. All came back normal.
Usually the "attacks" only last about 2 hours, but today was different. The pain started at 9am and by 2pm, I could barely see straight and I was vomiting. I immediately called the doctor and went in. While I was waiting to see him, I vomited again. But by the time he finished examining me and we discussed everything, the pain was going away and was gone completely an hour later. He ran a bunch of test results which all came back normal, as well as a urinalysis.
His theories included: Spastic bowel, IBS, fibromyalgia. He wants me to go in for a CT scan to rule out anything else possible.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong??? The doctor even admitted it was a mystery and that if they dont find anything to treat, he doesnt really know what we can do to prevent this pain from returning over and over again. Please, somebody tell me what to tell my doctor to do~!
