settle the debate (strength of kevlar)?

will a standard bullet proof vest stop a bullet from a high powered deer hunging rifle (.270 specificly) or is only good for hand guns and smaller caliber rifles? (we both expect getting shot to SUCK either way, but will the bullet go through the vest)
 
To stop a high spreed full metal jacket rifle bullet you need the ceramic plates (trauma plate) in the pockets of the armor. If you just have the Kevlar it will not stop the bullet.

The best brag that DuPont has done in regards to Kevlar alone was in June 2008 when they said two or three layers of a 11 layer vest made with their new Kevlar XP will stop a 44 magnum handgun bullet.

(However, a Kevlar vest is better than no vest. So wear what you got.)
