Setting up a separate G and N network with 2 routers?

I have a few computers running wireless N and some devices with G. I read online that if you set your router to mixed mode N and G it will slow down if the G devices try to access it, so I bought 2 routers instead. One is running on N wireless only and the other is running on G with ethernet cable connect to each other. Each has their own SSID broadcast name with the same channel. The problem is sometime the devices on G wireless keep having problem loading websites. is there anything wrong with this setup?
