I have a claud butler milano and i need to get it serviced and i think the bearings in the pedal section needs placing. Does anyone have a rough guess or experience of what this will cost me?

usually the cost 25.00 to 35.00 of replacing bearings in pedals ='s price of new depending on what you have. so go to shop see price of repair ttl, and price of new pedals. if you have moderate to upper end clipless then it could be worth it depends on condition of pedals.

Replacing pedals costs what the pedals cost. Bearings aren't usually serviced.

If you're talking about the bottom bracket, again, those are generally sealed and not serviceable. Replacement bottom brackets start around $25, plus the cost of a crank puller and bottom bracket tool if you don't already have those. No idea what a shop would charge, as I do my own repairs.

I use the condition of the bottom bracket (pedal section) as a signal of the extent of service the entire bike needs. Based on your description it likely requires a complete overhaul- basically tearing the bike completely apart and rebuilding everything.

In my shop, a complete overhaul costs $120 plus parts which usually turns out to be in the $180 range (unless there are strange or high end parts that require replacement). My shop is lower in price than most in the Maryland area.

If all you need is a rebuilt bottom bracket (if it is rebuildable- most are cartridge type now) then I charge $30- it takes about 1/2 hour. If cartridge type it is $20 plus parts, the total which could range anywhere from $40 to wayyy over $100.

Claud Butler is very popular in the UK, so if you are in the UK you might encounter overhaul pricing in the GBP100 range and bottom bracket replacement in the GBP50 range.
