Seriously.... It's about time...

This is good news--and yes--I do prefer this to an all-out, open merger. Cricket is more flexible when it comes to foreign ESN's in their database. This will also help leverage both companies as a serious threat to the "Big Two" in urban, niche markets.

Does that mean that a cricket phone can be used in a metro pcs market unlimited?, or just that theres gonna be better roamin plans when you go out to those certain areas?

No details on the "roaming agreement" yet. Any guess on what it will be is a good guess. Hopefully the smart folks will win out and we'll just have a simple reciprocal unlimited agreement between the two. I for one see a fee of some kind involved though. Hopefully it's flat and not per min.

Guess we'll wait and see huh?

About time, they should look at XM and Sirius radio as a example and go with that. Merge, work together, be oppressed by the powers that be and conquer.

Here's hoping for unlimited on both networks!

yea, except that a merged xm and sirrius will still fail because the cometition is free radio, and digital muic players.

my guess is that both companies went into this to leverage the agreement to increase coverage. regardless of what the companies are paying each other per minute or if it is a recipricol free roaming agreement, i'd expect to see either a free increase in coverage, or a flat rate for extended coverage area (like $5-$10 a month) with a possible restriction on how much you can be off network (i.e. 51% or higher of your monthly usage must be on cricket's network or you should change to a metro plan).
