Serious skin rash

Hi, I have had a bad last couple of weeks. I was diagnosed with mono so had to deal with all that. They put me on augmentin (Antibiotic) and prednisone (steroid) to deal with the tonsil inflammation.

Well, this next thing is a serious skin rash where hundreds of red spots just appeared on my skin. It's especially inflamed on my right arm, and they have spread to my hands and palms and face. Face is experiencing irritation along with shoulders and chest. There are a few on my legs too. could it be an allergic reaction to one or more of those meds? I just noticed it yesterday and was on the antibiotic for a week. That treatment stopped two days ago and the steroid treatments stopped today. All my mono symptoms are gone and this just started happening yesterday, so I'm not sure if it's directly related to the meds.

Any ideas? Guidance would be very helpful as this is really worrying me.

It sounds like you're having an allergic reaction to the Augmentin. It would be a good idea to let the doctor know so they can put that in your record. If it continues to get worse, go to the doctor. Take care.
 
do you think that's what it could be? I had been taking the augmentin since wednesday, and only started noticing the rash yesterday (my first day off the pill)-and it's now seeming to inflame some more today.
 
It may have taken some time for the level of Augmentin to accumulate enough to cause a reaction. It would probably be best to call the doctor's office and make sure they don't need to see you, in case it is something else. Take care.
