Anybody know of a Symbian software that would let me make a bluetooth serial port connection with a hyperterminal like interface? Basically something like minicom or hyperterm for symbian. Yeah, I'm a geek...

I've got some interesting equipment that can be controlled and configured through a bluetooth serial port. I would like to be able to open a serial port connection to a bluetooth device and send and receive command strings.

With that keypad, an E62 is the perfect machine for minicom. Too bad I haven't heard about that kind of app being available for S60.

I think that there are some debugging tools that operate over BT serial port. Maybe ask on the forum Nokia developers site.

If you have the time and skill, you can make your own app by looking at how the open source Bemused app works. They use BT serial port and RFCOMM to control PC apps from S60 phones.

Let us know if you find something. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip... I'll look at bemused and I might give porting minicom a try once they release the Posix libraries for symbian they just announced.
