I just recently bought a N95.. and the earphones that Nokia provided are shocking! So at the moment.. Im using the W950i in earphones.. and the sound is much better.

However.. Im on the prowl for my first decent set of earphones.. (normally I just buy any under a tenner).. and after alot of browsing.. Ive narrowed it down to the cx300 and Shure E2C

Im torn between these two! Please help me in decide!

Thanks!!

I was in the exact same dilemma as you when purchasing earbuds for my N73. I ended up buying the CX300's for one main reason, price.

To me, the quality of the sound and bass were definetly worth its cheaper price than the Shure's. I have to admit though, the Shure's were a lot more comfortable. The chord on the Shure's is Y-style which is what I prefer as opposed to the CX300's J-style but it doesnt bother me too much. Its just that you'll have to keep your device on the left side of your body (ie left pocket).

Overall, im happy with my CX300's and even saved some money by buying them over the E2C's. Mind you im a poor student

Been using the CX300's for a couple of months now. Really nice earphones that are comfortable and have plenty of "boomy" bass. You might also look at some V-moda Vibes. They produce a cleaner sound and are semi open when in the ear canal. This means you are able to hear some ambient noise, but it gives it a more natural sound I feel. Look for the Vibes on Amazon for about $75.

Thanks for the input so far.. Im so confused in what to get! I saw the Moda's yesterday.. I LOVE the look.. and the sound review sounds good too.. but for me.. ?50+ is way too much for earphones!

Have them both and my vote goes to the CX300.. way more bass and richer sound.. primarily and then comfort over the Shure...

I have the E2cs and I wouldn't recommend them. The sound quality is OK at best and the bass response is poor with any of the supplied ear fittings. I've never tried the CX300s but my recommendation is that you try out the Etymotics ER-6is - good overall sound quality and you can probably find them at a decent price.
