Amanda Rubio, 12 years old, was in an accident in Miami Saturday and was airlifted to Miami Children's Hospital, where she is in stable condition, Alex Conant, one of Mr. Rubio's aides said in a statement.
Mr. Romney's motorcade pulled off on the side of Florida's I-4 corridor to drop off Mr. Rubio shortly before 7 p.m. A Florida state trooper picked up the senator in a police vehicle.
"Sen. Rubio was notified of the accident after coming off stage while campaigning with Gov. Romney in Kissimmee, Fla.," Mr. Conant said in a statement. "He is en route to Miami."
Mr. Romney, who was joined by Mr. Rubio at rallies in Pensacola and Kissimmee earlier today, continued on to his final campaign stop of the day in Land O'Lakes.
Mr. Rubio, a first-term senator who resides in West Miami, has four children.
