Selling phones? I'm calling you to jesus

So, I've seen phones advertised for sale by a few people here.. I've seen them in various places, primarily craigslist and ebay..

Simply put, you guys are selling phones WAY too cheap.

Examples I've seen:

Cricket flashed 6700's for under $200
A chocolate for $140.
An EnV for $200

I'm just curious why you guys are selling these so cheap???? We've got the corner of the market, and there's no reason to sell this stuff for bargain basement prices. Do you realize you're selling a Chocolate for less than someone can buy a siren?

Cmon guys.. raise your prices and get what phones are worth... I get $350 for 6700's (300 if I use ebay), and i wouldn't sell a chocolate for less than $250, or an EnV for less than $350.

And yes, the phones do sell at these prices.

I'm just trying to watch your back's.

i get 450 for XV6700s and 350 for chocolates....... lol

hes right you guys can raise the prices because any cricket customer will do whatever it takes to buy a phone that almost nobody else has

Also Cricket Customers are tired of seeing everybody with the same phone...... for example, how many people have RZRs and SLVRs???????

exactly my point...... trust me they will pay whatever for something special

I sold my Ocean on Ebay for 700$ and it didnt have WAP and MMS but the guy didnt care so i didnt neither......... lol

come on you guys raise the prices

I had my Q on craigslist *with* working Web and Pic Messaging for $400 for 3 or 4 days with a single serious bite. Had awesome pics of it showing cricket web on the screen, and even a pic showing 1 new mms in the inbox.

I ended up selling it for $300 to someone who has wanted to buy it since they first saw it at my place a month ago, recently obtained and not even close to being flashed.

Actually I been holding it for him, but thinking of putting it up on e-bay. Currently there are two cricket Qs on ebay, but in the same ebay store for about $250, and of course just voice/text.

-------
What do you think I should expect to get on craigslist, and on ebay, for what may be the first and only Motorola Q on cricket with 100% working Mobile Web and Picture Messaging?
-------

Btw, the wap/mms on this phone is more stable than any other pda phone I've put mobile web onto. It's worked flawlessly without any wap/mms glitches of any sort since I first got it working.

And if cricket's web is gonna stay unrestricted, it's a whole new ballgame for flashed pda phones. Unrestricted web on a flashed pda phone on cricket, with streaming music, youtube, maps, instant messengers! That could be damn near priceless...

The thing you've got to remeraber is there isn't a huge market for flashed phones, because most people don't know you can do it... however, once people start realizing what's possible, they jump right on board... you absolutely shouldn't sell a good quality flashed phone for less than the higher end cricket hanRABets...

You also said it took about a month to sell at $450, and I don't want to sit on it for that long. I figured $400 would move it a little faster, and it probably would have, but after 3 or 4 days and not a single real inquiry, I decided to rethink this.

When you posted it for $450, how many serious responses did you get in the first week? I think all of the responses I got were from people asking where or how I got it flashed.

Your point is valid, but misguided... let me put it this way..

I have a mercedes I want to sell... Obviously, there aren't many people looking to buy a used mercedes, but that doesn't mean it's not worth much. Should I sell it for $8,000 just to move it fast, or do I hold out for $15,000 and a buyer who's actually looking for what I have to offer?

It doesn'tmake any sense to get rid of these phones in a fire sale. There ARE plenty of buyers out there who would pay for these phones. it's just a matter of getting their attention.

I've sold 7 6700's to one guy... Every phone has sold between $325 and $350... Where would I be if I had sold one to him in a fire sale for $175? He'd expect every other one that cheap, and to put it simply, it isn't worth my time to buy a phone for $150 only to sell it for $175.

This is BUSINESS. $20/hour or a 10% profit IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. It may sound great to some of you who are younger, but in the real world, that's chump change. Stop stepping over dollars trying to pick up pennies.

stop whining, eventually they will realize it's not worth there time to do it for such little profit. either that or you're charging too much. it's free market economy, quit whining

No one's whining.. We're trying to look out for out industry, and help our "brothers" out.

I could care less if these guys sell their phones at a loss... not my problem. There's no one in my area competing with me, so I'm free to sell for whatever I want.

Haha i flash and sell way more phones then others cuz im cheaper then everyone else down here. I finally got hooked up with pretty much all the TUCSON Cricket stores here now too so im making bank. OHH YEAH :2thurabs:
