Self-publishing a few THOUSAND books (yes lol) and ready to spend on Laser Printers.?

Should I buy an expensive one? Is the quality of text that much better?

I really crave some opinions from folks who have done this before (or steering up and coming publishers away from using laser printers)

Should I just buy $50 laser printers and run them into the ground?

*AND REMEMBER*
if you're going to recommend laser printers, recommend more than one.
One more thing: I haven't looked at LED printers, but they intrigue me...
