Hi everyone, I just found this board and hoping someone might have an idea. My sons girlfriend who is 19 all of a sudden a month ago had a full blown seizure. He took her to hospital and she was there for about 3 days in which she had about 6 seizures throughout the first night, and was referred to a neurologist to do the catscan, EEG, MRI etc. Well she did not make it that long. Another episode and she was in hospital for a week. Right through Thanksgivinig. She had developed numbness in her leg where she can't walk on it. She was originaly put on dilantin and the slowly switched her to Keppra. She was sent home this past Friday which was a mistake. Yesterday she was at our house, sleeping all weekend and complained about her arm going numb. Then about 3 she screamed and went into another full blown seizure. Plus total catatonic. I never have been so scared. She is now in hospital. They say they can't find what is causing all of this. She did show some tiny tumors on her spine/neck. One neurologist says it is not that, another says yes, and on and on. She is supposed to go to UCSD which has a great medical system. It is breaking my heart so bad. Has anyone gone through this. The doctors said it is not epilepsy. Because of the leg being numb for 3 weeks now. 19 years old and has a cane. Sad.
