Secluded Camping Spots?

I am looking for ideas on great camping spots that have a mountain stream or crystal lake where there are not a lot of people. A place to go and relax without paying an arm and a leg to stay there. I live in Illinois, but, I'm looking more from Indiana/Michigan to Idaho as my destinations...I love Montana, but it's a 34 hr drive to the Glaciers...looking to get within about 24 hours of driving. Any ideas?
 
Go to www.Backpacker.com On the main page there is a map of the US, click on the state where you want to go and a bunch of trips will be listed in front of you. You can narrow the results by searching different keywords such as river or stream.
