seal cull in canada- is there a need for such brutality?

i have just seen the images of the seal cull in canada on sky news- oh my god i could not believe the brutality and cruelty of it- i could not believe what i was seeing- so much for humane killing- and the seal hunters boat sinking ..... karma i wonder?
yes- it totally disgusts me too - billy i know where you are coming from when you say people want cheap fish... but surely there must be a better way than beating the seals to death- shooting them in the eye doesnt sound much better does it- well done the journalists for showing what is going on in canada
i am not in the USA bruno - so you see there are other parts of the world disgusted by this behaviour

Hopefully they will come back as seals themselves, make it to adult hood only to be attacked by a bear or maybe a killer whale, I've heard they like to brutally play with their food before killing it
