Sea Patrol - Australian Drama

For anyone who enjoys a good Drama, Sea Patrol is one of Australia's finest TV exports in a long time. It is shown in the UK on the Hallmark Channel.

The Series is presently on the Axe list due to it reaching its Tax Subsidy End. As this is produced by a small team and is half owned by the Network.

Network Nine has decided it's too expensive, even though it has some of the top regular viewing figures and has been very successful with overseas sales as well.

The axe notice has received widespread coverage in Australia more so since the following petition was started.

Please can anyone who enjoys a good drama sign upto the attached petition as it may force them to at least consider the possibility of converting it to a mini film shorts series rather than axing it completely, especially as they have left it so late to tell the producers and writers they are already well into filming what is now scheduled to be the final series and do not have time to re-write a fitting final episode to finish it off correctly. All the fans ask if for people to sign the petition.

I did like Sea Patrol, and it was good having something familiar and with a little action during my insomnia moments. I think the only character that got on my nerves was Two DaRAB, such an undisciplined oik. Loved all the women for being brave and butch, without being butch. The thing is though I began to think the storylines were becoming a tad predictable, and why did we need to have so many repeats?
