OK I have a problem I dont know whether to get the Sony W800i or the V3i. I like the W800i because of its features but i like the V3i's looks. The V3i is also 100 dollars cheaper. Which one would you buy and why? Also what are some pros and cons for both phones. Thanks

w800i is a far better phone. best in class 2mp camera vs 1.3 mp camera is big. overall build quality and customer satisfaction is huge, too -- everyone i've ever talked to or seen online who has a w800i loves it. many people who bought a razr (at least who i've talked to) wish they hadn't. crappy UI, mediocre call performance, and the recent RAZR recalls. also, i've heard it's pretty fragile.

granted, 1)my experiences are 3rd hand, and 2)they're all about the v3 or v3c, not the v3i ...

but i decided to go with the k750i over the v3i, myself. picking it up tomorrow :-)

i've used the w800. Great phone, but when it comes to actually using it for its main purpose..i was disappointed. Call quality left something to be desired, and reception wasnt that great. However camera and walkman feature performed very well..

I've never had any of the razrs, but the v3i also attracts me. Especially the iTunes version.

I'd say go with the v3i just due to its quadband capabilities and its looks.
After all, it is a phone, you want to be able to use it as a phone

the v3i doesn't have looks cause it looks like the v3 which

A. sucks anyway
B. everyone and there momma has one

with that being said, w800

I have the k750i with the w800i firmware. I love this phone. Walkman, camera are good.

But depending on where you are the call quality can suck because it?s missing the 850 band which Rogers uses. I?m usually in the gta so im ok with that.

I say go if the lack of the 850 band doesn?t affect you that much then I say w800i.

I personally as well as other people I know has had problems with Motorollas for years so I might be biased against the v3i.

The rf of the w800 depends on where you live and what carrier you use. If you use cingular like me, you're going to get crap rf with the w800, and good rf with the razr.'

But really though, razrs are really cool at first. But that cool appearance wears off, then you're left with the crappy features it has. Oh well at least it serves it's purpose well, being a phone.

Do not get the w800i because the RF absolutely sucks. Even if your area uses only 1900 MHz, its still going to suck bad. Keep in mind, its first and foremost a phone.

honestly i think you should get something different. i have a v3i and dont like it too much. i guess because im used to the treo. its just soo plain. i think i may get a nokia 6682 now that i think about it, or a 8125. but back to you lol. the w800 has bad rf as everyone said and its gonna get old fast. and so is the v3i. im probably gonna sell my treo and v3i and get a 8125

I just sold my w800i for a v3i yesterday

The w800i has better camera as it is 2MP
In regards to sound /mp3: the mp3 player on the v3i is better (itunes)
The UI: w800i is much better, v3i's menus are more confusing and less appealing
Looks: I needed a more serious looking phone thus v3i suits my needs ( gray /gunmetal colour)
Lastly I needed the 850mhz band as I will be moving out of town in Sept to London Ontario

Overall if you live in a city, and will stay there, don't need a pro look, by all means go for the w800i
