I was sitting around on a rainy day thinking about the Comp install on my 08 FLHTP. I was thinking, I have the HD 50 Amp charging sysytem on my bike. With this new rotor in the SE comp kit will I then lost this charging capacity. I guess I wasnt't sure what made it HD. The rotor or the stator itself. I know it is a 2 phase system so maybe it is in the stator itself and not the size of the magnets. Anyway, just thought I would throw this out there on a rainy labor day. Thanks
 
I don't know this for sure , but if the HD kit re-uses the stock comp rotor , the SE comp should work fine.
Generally high output systems use a beefier stator with more/different windings to produce the desired increase in output.
Also in (automotive) the clearance between the stator and rotor would be smaller to increase the magnetic effect.
So the SE comp should work if the HD setup used the stock (factory) comp.
I think so anyway...........

Guess I might not know till I open it up. I would think you are right. The Charging system I have is the 3 phase 50 amp. This would be in the stator itself and not in the size of the rotor. I guess I just threw it out there to see if anyone else has changeg them on the cop bikes. Thanks for your insight Mick
