SE Comp and 49T done

Why did you switch back to a HD compensator.I thought the 30t was comparable to the 49t as far as the final drive ratio and the 30t was less than half the price.

How bout helping us new guys I assumed you have a 6 speed and I just realized you went the other way when when you mentioned taking the 30 tooth out. Why so tall (smaller numerical) a ration? Is the 30 tooth a standard for the 6 speed bikes? Think my 5 speed has a 36 or 38. What is TTS? Why would you loose a 6th light, is that not in the transmission?

I'm interested in your opinion regarding the intiminators, considering doing those myself in the near future. Plz let me know how they work when you get a chance. thanx

Stock comp sprocket is a 34. Many find the drop to a 30 is too much and you lose the compensator. There is no 32T option.
6th gear light is lost because the ECM doesn't recognize the new rpm/speed.

I have the old SERT which can be sent into TTS Mastertune and upgraded to the TTS for $100, as they used to make the old SERT for HD.

The 49T is a little less than the 30T sprocket as nvsteve said. It was fine for me around town and it's really not that bad on the highway, but I'm trying to smooth everything out as much as possible as my wife suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and a smoother ride is better for her, hence the intiminators, rear shock mod, compensator, etc. so I wanted to go back with a compensator but still hate the stock gearing.

Will do. I have a ride planned from here to NJ the weekend of the 18th so I'll be able to really test everything out.

So Dawg, if I switch to the 30-tooth Power Pulley from Andrews, I'll lose the SE Compensator I had installed and the IDS? Also, I have the SEPST, can I send this in to TTS and have it converted or is that only available for the SEST? Thanks in advance!

No, the Andrews 30 tooth is the tranny pulley. I had the EVO 30 tooth which was a straight pulley that replaced the compensator. If you do the Andrews 30 tooth you will need a new belt, but can keep the SE comp. Only the old SERT can be sent in and upgraded to the TTS. The SEST is made by a different company.

The reason I asked was because I heard that the 30T Evo Industries Sprocket have been snapping the output shaft off of the crankshaft.I have heard of one and personally saw another.I just took mine off last week.I wanted to go to the 30t trans pulley from Baker but it requires a belt that is one tooth shorter {139t} . According to Baker no one at this time makes one for the '09 and up bikes yet.

So what about the guys with a PC running the EFI and not a TTS. If I go with the 49 tooth swap is this gearing something that the dealership can re-program my ecm and gearing? I am in need of some gearing changes and this 49 tooth I think is the best way to do it. Dawg how much did you have into that kit and where did you get it? PM me if you want.

I am thinking cost has to be about the same around the board. Between the tools and the 30 tooth pulley for the tranny and getting rid of the IDS and a 70 tooth for the rear as compared to the 49 tooth in the primary. Now if you do the 30 tooth front and keep the IDS it would be a good change as well but then we are buying a belt. ????? I really don't want to have to mess with cruise to much and really could care less about the 6th gear indicator. We have a Tach, that is all a guys needs. But in the end I really don't want to have to buy a TTS either. Guess I have to much to decide on. Any part numbers out there for that 70 tooth rear for use on an 08?
