SD card from camera into TX

I am getting a digital camera. I was wandering if I could take pictures and then put the SD card in the TX for viewing.

Also, I have an internal palm card reader called Softick Card Export II 2.22. So, even if I can't view the pics on my TX, can I put the SD card in my TX and use that program to transfer them to my PC?

Last question. Are there programs I can use to do what I want to do?

I am running out of free USB ports!! Sooooooo much stuff!

I can pop the SD card out of my Canon digital camera and straight into my T5 to view them, using the Media program. Couldn't be any easier...

Cheers! M2

The camera must be set to save the file in .jpeg format.

Some camera's can use a proprietary format for saving (ie canon uses a RAW as an option) but other that that little tidbit......should be a piece of cake as my fellow Texan stated.

I do it on my Minolta all the time. Much better image than the camera's screen. With TCPMP I can also view the movies (.MOV).

A simple solution to the USB port problem is a $15 multiport adapter. It is like a cube tap for an electric outlet. You plug in one plug and it gives you 4 or more USB plugs.

I use this exact method as my "camera phone". I have a camera phone that takes horrible pictures, so instead I use my high-end consumer-grade Canon on the lowest resolution settings -- which still makes the camera phone pictures look like fuzzy security camera freeze-frames -- pop the SD card into my Palm, then zap via Bluetooth the photos to my other, non-camera Bluetooth phone that has no SD card reader. Then use the phone to e-mail the photos. It sounds complicated but it really only takes maybe twice as long as taking a decent camera-phone snapshot and e-mailing that directly from the phone. Plus I get great looking photos posted to the web, or to friend's e-mail boxes.

Bottomline, it will work great.

I swap SD cards between my TX and my Nikon Coolpix when I want to show off photos that I've just taken - or check them properly for blur, as the camera's tiny screen isn't so good for that. The TX makes a nice portable photo viewer, altho if you turn the backlight right up (which photos really need) it does eat the battery. Anyway, it works fine - as long as the camer uses Jpeg, like MooseMan says.

BTW - A really handy way to communicate with your local hardware store: Take detailed pictures of your project, pop the SD card into your Palm, and show the pictures to the guy/gal at the store to help you find the tool or part you need to finish the project. A lot easier than trying explain it or draw it.
