Scum - The Film

I watched it the other night and I thought the charecter of Archer was odd, then I relised it wasn't the actor I rememberd playing the role the last time I watched it.

Can anyone explain why they made two versions of this film?

It was orginally made for (by?) the BBC, but they refuse to show it. The same script and actors (except ....) was used for a film version.

The original was made for TV as a series, but was then made into a much much better film
