ScreenButton (ScrBtn) 2.26 Released

Some of you have heard me go on and on e about "unobtrusive but powerful launchers," and one of the two I use is ScreenButton. I was using this great freeware v2.23 since June of last year, and now 2.26 is out. PalmGear has the correct file version listed; Freeware Palm has it listed as 2.25 (incorrect) but I believe the app inside the zip is correct.

The author emailed me about the PalmGear link, so I got it from there.

2.26 fixes a possible crash when editing and hitting "Home" button; never happened to me but now it's fixed. I use this in conjunction with TealLaunch and can launch total around 30 apps with 2 taps. When you first load it, you'll see ugly boxes for buttons . . . ignore them; that can be switched off in prefs and the real icon loaded. zi set mine up for 4 rows of 4, total `16 app launches per page, but you can have less or more. 16 is max amount that still shows full icon.

I have TealLaunch "open" when hitting home button, which brings up a pop up list. ScreenButton is the bottom on the list, closest to Home Button. That way I get the TealLaunch pop up apps, hit once for ScreenButton and have 16, 32 or 48 (you can have several "pages" or categories) with links to the OTHER two pages on the bottom of each page.

Sounds complicated but play with it and I think you'll like it. It's only 28k, plus around 3k for database - and it's freeware. Recommend it highly!
 
to use ScreenButton and stay within the program once you have finished one application to move to another instead of exiting the application and you automatically exit ScreenButton and have to relaunch it to access your favorites?

That's where the TealLaunch part comes in. Tapping on the little left hand corner "house" on my T3 brings up TealLaunch popup menu . . .and bottom on the list is Screen button. Tap on house, tape on screen button. 2 taps and I can launch 32 apps with the 3rd tap.

MooseMan told me long ago (I had no idea til then!) that tapping and HOLDING the "little house" brings up a list of FAVORITES anyway . . . it's just that the T/L one is longer (I think 10 fit on screen without scrolling), plus a right hand column for handy stuff like copy, paste, cut, digitize or any number of other assignables.

Alternative would be assign ScreenButton to a hard button or a penswipe, if you dont' want to bother with T/L. It's the 2 of them TOGETHER (T/L and S/B) that crEates the "Launcher from Hell." What's more, you're only looking at around 170k TOTAL!!

Hope I understood your question correctly, Carol . . . let me know if I didn't! I'm not sure if you mean "multi task," which obviously you don't since OS5 doesn't support except for pop up DA's.
